As a Materials Engineering Technician at Impulse, you will be responsible for anchoring the company's mechanical testing capabilities. This involves conducting extensive testing on various materials like advanced metals, polymers, composites, and ceramics used in orbital vehicles and propulsion systems. The role requires adherence to stringent industry standards, management of test setups, and ensuring data integrity for engineering decisions. Key responsibilities include setting up and operating universal testing machines, interpreting ASTM and ISO standards, preparing specimens, recording and compiling test data, and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
