# Using Thread Filters to Refine Your Job Search

Last updated: March 3, 2026
[Job Search](/help/category/job-search)

## Overview

Thread filters give you precise control over the jobs Metaintro's AI surfaces during a conversation. Instead of relying solely on natural-language prompts, you can set structured criteria that stay active throughout the entire Thread.

## How to Access Filters

Look for the **filter button** located directly next to the chat bar inside any active Thread. Tapping it opens a panel where you can view, add, or adjust every available filter.

### Auto-Saved Search Context

Once you set a filter, Metaintro remembers it for the duration of that Thread. You do not need to repeat yourself. If you tell Marsh you want remote roles and then set the location filter to "Remote," every subsequent result respects both inputs.

You can also override a filter at any time by opening the panel and changing the value. The conversation picks up the new criteria instantly.

## Available Filters

Below is the full list of filters you can apply:

- **Job title / Role** -- Specify the exact position or a broad category (e.g., "Data Analyst" or "Engineering").
- **Location** -- City, state, country, or "Remote."
- **Experience level** -- Entry-level, mid-level, senior, lead, or executive.
- **Salary range** -- Set a minimum and maximum expected compensation.
- **Industry** -- Narrow results to sectors like healthcare, fintech, education, and more.
- **Visa / Sponsorship** -- Toggle to show only positions that offer visa sponsorship.
- **Health insurance** -- Filter for roles that explicitly include health insurance benefits.
- **Job type** -- Choose from contract, full-time, internship, or PhD positions.
- **In-office preference** -- Select on-site, hybrid, or fully remote.

## Real-Time Refinements

Every filter change takes effect immediately. Marsh re-evaluates the available listings against your updated criteria and returns a refreshed set of matches without requiring a new prompt. This means you can fine-tune results mid-conversation as your priorities shift.

### Tips for Getting the Best Results

- Start broad and narrow down. Begin with one or two filters and add more as you review initial results.
- Combine filters with conversational context. For example, set the salary filter to your minimum and then ask Marsh to prioritize companies with strong growth trajectories.
- If results seem too limited, relax one filter at a time to see which criterion is most restrictive.

## Resetting Filters

To clear all filters at once, open the filter panel and select the reset option. This returns the Thread to an unfiltered state while preserving your conversation history.

Filters are scoped to individual Threads. Starting a new Thread gives you a clean slate, so feel free to experiment with different combinations across multiple conversations.
