Role Overview

Whatnot is looking for a skilled Software Engineer with a focus on Machine Learning to join their Discovery team. In this role, you'll design and implement scalable solutions to improve the user experience on Whatnot's platform. Your work will have a direct impact on recommendation algorithms, search functions, and the overall Discovery experience, helping users quickly find what they love.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy recommendation algorithms to improve user engagement.
• Collaborate with machine learning, platform, and product teams to integrate data science and machine learning artifacts into production systems.
• Build and maintain scalable, low-latency infrastructure for search and feed functionalities.
• Communicate insights and findings through dashboards, notebooks, and presentations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on machine learning.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with data science and machine learning frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, and Docker.
• Expertise in operational databases like PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and lead initiatives across multiple product areas.

Compensation and Benefits
