Well, here's a splash of good news: **New York State Parks** is diving headfirst into hiring lifeguards for the summer of 2025. This isn't just any job opportunity—it's your chance to turn that love for water and the outdoors into a well-paid summer gig! Imagine this: overseeing some of New York's most picturesque swimming spots, suit up for duty by the water, and bask in the appreciation of approximately 25 million NYS Parks visitors. The paycheck isn't too shabby either, starting at $21.86 per hour with potential increases for seasoned lifeguards who bring a little extra to the lifeguarding table. ## Beach Bums Wanted Here's where it gets interesting—over 70 locations across the Empire State are on the hunt for the best lifeguards. Whether you're from the city or the countryside, there's a beach or pool waiting for your guardianship. Ready to ditch whatever shade of fluorescent lighting you're currently basking in for a more natural glow? Check out these scenic game-changers looking for new recruits: - **Chenango Valley State Park** in the Binghamton area - **Delta Lake State Park** near Rome - **Gilbert Lake State Park** in the Oneonta area - **Glimmerglass State Park** around the Cooperstown area And the list swims on with more parks like **Green Lakes, Sandy Island Beach, Selkirk Shores,** and **Verona Beach** all seeking lifeguard lifesavers. --- Ad## ✨ A Word From Our Sponsors 👇 💭 Feeling stuck in your job hunt or career? Savvy tip: you can jump into this process before you're fully certified, though having those certs could place you at the front of the lineup. The process is straightforward. Meet the requirements, send in your application, register for a nearby qualifier, and once you pass, friendly park staff will help you onto the next steps. This could be the summer job that not only fills your wallet but also fills your memory bank with sun-drenched days keeping swimmers safe and sound. Whether you're a student, teacher, or simply a water-loving wanderer, New York State Parks is waiting for you to make a splash!
