Vertex Group's survey, conducted among 1,500 professionals across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh, paints a grim picture of workplace well-being – 52% are feeling fried. As organizations adjust to the post-pandemic work world, there's a pressing cry for flexible work hours and better balance. Hey, employers! Hint, hint: the traditional 9-to-5 might be past its prime.

Making matters murkier, over 23% of those surveyed admitted to working past normal hours, effectively stretching their schedules and further straining their mental well-being. The toll isn't limited to mind either. Notably, the tragic and untimely deaths of several industry leaders have spotlighted the perils of stress-heavy environments.

Productivity Pitfall Alert

More hours at the desk doesn't equate to more output. More than 20% of surveyed employees said they're effectively productive for only 2.5 to 3.5 hours out of an 8-9 hour day. Calling it eye-opening is an understatement. Extended work hours appear to sap both creativity and productivity. Gagan Arora, the brain behind Vertex Group, says it's time we take the robo-out-of-man and keep their brain "batteries" charged.
